corey & Jessica’s engagement session on private land

When I agreed to do Corey and Jessica’s engagement session on their family land, I didn’t quite know what I was walking into. I’d obviously never been out there, so I was walking in blind.

I didn’t know it was going to be AMAZING, though!! It was everything photographers are constantly looking for when it comes to locations. I’m going to share some of my favorites with you, so let’s go!

We started in the woods in this little whimsical area that Jessica adores. So much so, she actually had her bridal shower there. It had Mad Hatter/tea party vibes. Super fun!

And do I even have to point out how amazing the lighting was?! Like… okayyyyyy!

Outfit change!!!! Adding a second outfit is so beneficial for an engagement session. It helps add variety and is another way to show off your personalities. Adding accessories like a fun hat is always a win, too!

Last up- sunset by the lake. They did pop back into their other outfits for these for a little dressier vibe. I love all of the different colors we got for sunset. The property was almost surrounded by the water, so every direction we shot was beautiful.

Spending the afternoon with Corey, Jessica and their families was wonderful. It truly sets you up for success on a wedding day if you are doing an engagement session with your photographer. Why?

Here are some good reasons:

-It gives you a chance to see how your photographer works. We all work at different paces and have different prompts.

-It gives your photographer a chance to see how you and your honey interact. This will help your images seem more genuine.

-There’s no guessing who the bride and groom are on wedding day. We can only Facebook stalk so much..😅

- It’s another excuse to get cuddly with the one you love and get wall worthy images in the process.

See, it’s a win-win!
