Sailing Into Forever: Morgan & Jimmy’s Lake Murray Engagement Session

There’s something timeless and endlessly romantic about being out on the water — and Morgan and Jimmy’s engagement session on Lake Murray was just that. The evening was calm, the light was golden, and the gentle movement of the sailboat made everything feel like a scene straight out of a movie.  

We started with a few stunning drone shots to capture the full beauty of the lake and the sailboat drifting across the glowing water. From above, you could see the soft ripples catching the sunset — it was absolutely breathtaking. Once I hopped on board, we spent the rest of golden hour sailing, laughing, and soaking in the warm light as it danced across the water.  

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into rich blues and purples for blue hour — that dreamy in-between time when the light is soft and cinematic. The way the sailboat cut through the calm water made every frame feel like pure magic.  

To end the night, we made our way back to the dock for a couple final nighttime photos. The reflections from the dock lights shimmered across the water, wrapping up the session in the most romantic way possible.  

Morgan and Jimmy’s session was such a beautiful reminder of how special it can be to make your engagement photos uniquely *you*. Whether it’s on a sailboat, in the mountains, or downtown at sunset — when you choose a place that reflects your story, the photos radiate something deeper.  

This Lake Murray evening was one for the books — golden skies, calm waters, and two people completely in love.
