Spring in Columbia has a way of making you stop in your tracks — and Clay and Laura’s April wedding was the perfect reminder of just how breathtaking this season can be. The Hampton-Preston Mansion and Gardens provided the most stunning backdrop, with every corner overflowing with spring vibes. Azaleas and colorful garden beds painted the grounds in vibrant pops of color, as if spring had been saving its best for this day.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect — warm enough for guests to enjoy the outdoor setting but with just the right breeze to keep everyone comfortable. The historic charm of the mansion paired beautifully with the lush gardens, giving their celebration a timeless, romantic feel.

Clay and Laura’s ceremony took place beneath the shade of mature trees surrounded love. The joy on their faces as they exchanged vows was mirrored by the smiles of family and friends, each moment feeling like something out of a storybook. Afterward, guests mingled during cocktail hour, soaking in the magic of the gardens before the evening continued with laughter, and dancing.

I love leaning into the atmosphere the DJ and band create—letting those vibrant lights spill across the dance floor and into my photos. Every flash of color adds movement, energy, and personality, making the moments feel as fun and alive as they really were. When the music is pumping, the lights are dancing, and everyone’s celebrating—it’s the perfect recipe for unforgettable images.
