Some wedding days have a look. Others have a feeling. Morgan and Jimmy’s June wedding at The Farm at Ridgeway had both.

It was colorful, romantic, and packed with personality from beginning to end. From the first details of the morning to their ceremony inside the chapel and a reception that included Jimmy picking up a guitar, this was one of those wedding days where there was always something worth photographing.

The color palette alone was SO good — soft blush and ivory mixed with deeper berry tones, warm greens and rich chocolate brown. Their florals carried those colors throughout the entire day, from Morgan’s bouquet to the chapel and reception tables, giving everything a romantic summer feel without losing the bold color I love so much.

A Chapel Ceremony at The Farm at Ridgeway

Morgan and Jimmy exchanged vows inside the chapel at The Farm at Ridgeway, surrounded by their family and friends.

The bright white interior, warm wood floors, oversized windows and statement chandeliers make this space absolutely gorgeous for photographs. Their florals added just enough color without competing with the chapel itself, and watching Morgan walk down that long aisle beneath her veil was one of those classic wedding-day moments that never gets old.

And then, after they were officially married, they gave us THAT dip walking back down the aisle.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the grounds around The Farm for wedding party and newlywed portraits. I always want couples to have the beautiful, frame-on-the-wall portraits, but I also want their gallery to feel like them. So alongside the more romantic portraits under Morgan’s veil, there was plenty of movement, laughing, running through the grass and just letting the two of them enjoy being newly married.

Their wedding party brought that same energy. One of my favorite images from the day is everyone gathered around Morgan and Jimmy laughing instead of staring perfectly at the camera. Those are the photographs that bring the personality of a wedding day back years later.

A Reception Full of Personality

Once the celebration moved into the reception, the romantic color palette continued with candlelight, rich berry tones, soft pink florals and all of the little details that tied the day together.

But as beautiful as the room was, the best part was watching it fill up with everyone Morgan and Jimmy love. From dinner and toasts to cake, dancing and Jimmy picking up his guitar for a special performance, the evening felt personal, relaxed and completely them. Those are always some of my favorite receptions to photograph, the ones where the pretty details set the scene, but the people and the moments are what you remember.

That’s always the goal.
