‍ ‍There’s something I love about an engagement session that doesn’t feel overly complicated. Give me a beautiful South Carolina evening, an open field, a couple who genuinely enjoys being together (and, obviously, bring the dog) and I’m happy.

Jeremy and Megan’s engagement session was exactly that.

We kept everything relaxed and natural, which fit these two perfectly. Their neutral outfits against all that green gave the session such a classic, true-to-color feel, while still letting their personalities be the focus… also… make sure you check out Megan’s boots. Yes, please! And it didn’t take long before we went from the “everyone look at the camera” photos to running through the field with their pup, laughing at each other, and basically forgetting there was a camera there at all.

Those are always some of my favorite photographs.

And can we talk about that close-up of their eyes?! 😍 Sometimes during an engagement session I see something and think, okay, we HAVE to try this. It’s a little different from the traditional engagement photo, and I absolutely love how it turned out.

We slowed things down for a few cozy photos on a blanket before exploring more of the property, and as the evening went on, we ended up by the water. The light softened, everything got a little quieter, and that reflection off the pond gave us the prettiest ending to their session. More than anything, Jeremy and Megan’s gallery feels like them. There are the portraits you’ll frame, but there are also the laughs, the movement, the dog chaos, the cuddling on a blanket, and all those little in-between moments that make photographs feel personal instead of just pretty.

That’s exactly what I want an engagement session to be.

Jeremy and Megan, I had the best time hanging out with you two (and your four-legged third wheel 😂), and I cannot wait for what’s ahead!
