Colorful June Wedding at The Laundry in Downtown Columbia, SC

There is something so special about a summer wedding filled with beautiful florals, thoughtful details, and a whole lot of love! Makenzie and Joshua's June wedding at The Laundry in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, was the perfect combination of romantic elegance and vibrant summer color. From the gorgeous floral arrangements to the venue's historic brick walls and industrial charm, every detail came together beautifully for their wedding day.

One of the first things that caught our attention was the incredible color palette Makenzie and Joshua chose for their wedding. Soft peach, bright pink, coral, and buttery yellow florals brought so much life and personality to every part of their celebration. Their wedding invitation suite featured delicate floral illustrations that perfectly complemented the fresh flowers surrounding it. Even their hand fasting cords were styled with colorful embroidered floral, tying together the smallest details of their day.

We absolutely love when couples incorporate personal touches that make their wedding feel uniquely theirs, and Makenzie and Joshua's details were beautiful from beginning to end.

Located in the heart of downtown Columbia, The Laundry is such a beautiful setting for couples who love a combination of historic architecture and modern elegance. The exposed brick, large industrial windows, and warm wooden ceilings create a space with so much character. For Makenzie and Joshua's ceremony, rows of wooden chairs lined an aisle sprinkled with colorful flower petals. Lush floral arrangements in shades of pink, peach, and yellow framed the ceremony space, while a soft ivory draped backdrop with cascading greenery created a romantic focal point. The contrast between the delicate florals and the industrial details of the venue was absolutely stunning. Every element worked together to create a ceremony setting that felt both timeless and full of personality.

Of course, one of our favorite parts of any wedding day is getting to spend time photographing our couples together.

Makenzie and Joshua were so sweet together, and their portraits captured that beautifully. With Joshua in his light-colored suit and Makenzie in her gorgeous lace wedding gown, their wedding-day style complemented the soft, romantic feel of their celebration. One of our favorite portraits was the two of them standing together with their foreheads touching, simply enjoying a quiet moment with one another. Those little moments of connection are always some of the most meaningful photographs from a wedding day.

One thing that I have always taken seriously is understanding lighting and part of that is how to work in full sun for beautiful portraits. And we HAD to get some photos in front of their venue!

The venue's exposed brick archways and textured walls were accented with lush floral installations, creating a gorgeous entrance into the reception space. Tables dressed in soft white linens, delicate floral patterns, and bright centerpieces filled the room, while warm string lights added to the inviting atmosphere. What made this design so beautiful was the balance between the venue's industrial character and the softness of the wedding decor. The vibrant flowers stood out against the brick and wood, creating a reception space that felt elegant without being overly formal. Everywhere you looked, there was another beautiful detail to photograph!

Makenzie and Joshua's wedding was such a beautiful reminder that timeless wedding photography doesn't have to mean a neutral color palette. Their celebration was full of vibrant colors, romantic details, and meaningful moments that will be just as beautiful to look back on decades from now.

We loved getting to document their June wedding at The Laundry and all of the thoughtful details that made their day their own.

Congratulations, Makenzie and Joshua! Thank you for allowing us to capture such a special chapter of your love story.
